Latest incarnation of ZA Pro does not play ball with NAV email scanning. I have disabled Email Protection and Anti-Virus Monitoring and it still won't play.
I'm a recent convert to ZA Pro and, thus far, have been very happy with it. However, l made the error of upgrading as soon as the latest update became available. Big mistake, broke my own rule never to update immediately.
Any suggestions, or, is it uninstall new version and revert to old??
TIA. |

Mariner, that seems to be the only course of action at this point. If you feel like reading all the horror stories head over to the Zone Alarm Forums All the good stuff is in the Installation, Uninstall and Upgrade Forum. I use the free version and have not had any problems, but I also do not use NAV anymore. Seems to be NAV and McAfee giving ZA fits. Imagine that the Big2 and they did not fully beta test. The are supposed to be coming out with a patch or something (unofficial news) in the next few days. I would assume it will be pretty quick as they have quite a few pissed payed customers at this point.

Thanks parputt,
I'm still getting used to ZA Pro. I like it as it is a lot easier on the system and the speed increase since dropping my predominately Symantec package is nothing short of amazing.
My own fault, should have stuck to my own rules never to update straightaway. Luckily, l placed the upgrade in a different folder, so l have the originals intact.
Just hope uninstalling is easy, don't want a Norton root out job....again. That's partly why l ditched it in the first place. Sooner l get rid of NAV the better. NOD 32 is favorite, need email scanning, though.
Think i'll slink off and give myself a good kicking for acting too hastily. |

NOD32 does have inbound email scanning. I too like the idea of outbound scanning, but when you really think about it outbound email scanning is pretty useless. As long as your AV is doing it's job it should not find anything in the outbound email anyway. I have been using NOD32 for several months now and am quite satisfied.

As ever, you are the very voice of reason itself. Right about Outbound scanning. What appeals is it covering instant messaging too. That's important with a kid about. Yak yak yak yak...... |
