|
|
I installed Hi Jack this to rid my PC of some problems, but I can't change the settings for Hi Jack this and every time I turn on my PC, it sends copies of files to my desktop - 96 to be exact! When I try to change the settings on Hi Jack this not to copy, it won't remember the setting and it also won't allow me to uninstall. I hit uninstall and nothing happens. Suggestions? |

duckhen12,
Have sought advice.
It appears that you may have put the hijackthis.exe into the startup folder somehow...hence multiples appearing.
Suggest you delete HJT and download and install a fresh copy to say, C:\ Documents and settings\my downloads\HijackThis
Then, post a scan if possible. Please, follow these instructions:
Please read these messages
Virus=Read This: http://www.computercops.biz/postt8864.html
HiJack= Read This: http://www.computercops.biz/postt911.html
Then
Download: HiJack This!
Create and Unzip to a folder not your Desktop or the Temp folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and press "Scan".
Unzip the download (using a piece of software like: Winzip)
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log in a text file, and add your log to this thread. Someone will move it for you.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.
*Please, be patient. An expert will examine your log and this does take time. Please, no 'Bumps' and no 'Dupes'. Thank you.* |
