Arrow The new ZAP Version 5 seems to be working ok for me but it does not recognize AVG Version 7 as a running antivirus program. The Antivirus Monitoring tab indicates Action required! (in red) but the only action I see discussed is the opportunity to purchase ZA antivirus. Not appropriate for a subscription version of ZA.

Question Anyone around from ZA? Any plans to recognize and monitor AVG 7?

It is only going to show Norton, McAffee and one other for now. I think they are still working on the rest.

same for me.
did you have trouble downloading the latest update also as i did?
i had to un-install the original install and then download the free version from the home site all over again.

the reason i ask is because since then my operating system has been giving me trouble and not letting me do a disk check all it does is tell me that it cant open the volume and that it's done and re-boots.
and i'm not detecting anything with my detecting programs that has to be dealt with.

maybe i should post a new gripe on my own.

TMOV,

Arrow I think you are in good company. A number of folks are discussing problems with the new upgrade. Some are similar to yours. You might want to do some reading here http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs

Arrow Check the Installation, Uninstall, Upgrade forum. Zone Alarm folks are talking about a quick fix release to the upgrade. A clean uninstall and reinstall of an earlier version is also being discussed.

Arrow What is your operating system? I'm running Windows XP Home and don't seem to have any problem. I was asking about the antivirus support simply because it's unfortunate to have a hyped upgrade with a new feature that can't be implemented since AVG Antivirus is not supported.

On a whole, I'm very pleased with ZAP. Wink

as a general rule i was happy with zone alarm, but if it's going to mess with my operating system i can not allow that.
i may end up having to re-install the whole package of windows xp professional here, that's how bad it has gotten.
including ,i can not use email right now cause my outlook appears to be gone also.
so i'm checking on my threads the old fashioned way.
and i dont use outlook express, i use m/s outlook and i had un-installed out look express.
so this has gotten very wierd.
luckily i back-up frequently and don't mind going through the tedium of re-installing the o/s.
