IS THAT WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS LATEST RELEASE ??
You're making me do work that i don't want to have to do.
see the previous thread in zone alarm about the types of problems that come about when you release hastily.
the up-date was not successful for xp professional on my pc.
it kept telling me to update and download something like 4.5MB of data that wouldnt take repeatedly.
i had to un-install and download fresh from the home site.
and my pc wont do a disk check now, the za does not recognize AVG version 7.0 running, and i had trouble booting up my system.
it wouldnt even let my monitor turn on.
persistance got me here though.
and it looks like i am going to have to do a fresh install and that is too much to have to do.
at first i thought ,well i can just do this fresh all over again, but now i remember what work it takes to get all the stuff into the system to make everything like the email working and the updates for the o/s which i have the hard copy of critical updates from windows, but this should not happen.
i'm going to be off line for as long as it takes for me to un-install all the other components of windows that i have on the drive"C" and then run the disk eraser to clean the magnetic media so that i get a nice clean install and from there step by step to completion.
i guess i'm going to have to go to several sites to turn off email notifications of answers to threads so that it doesnt clog up the mail box at the ISP.

next time there is an update released i wont move so quickly to download it.
i will wait to see what troubles others are going to experience before i subject my once very clean running system to that.
at least i have no excuse now for not running the gutman 35 pass cleaner on here that will take about fourteen hours on this seagate scsi to do.
all others.
this is not sour grapes.
this is a solemn rebuke to the folks at zone labs for releasing something prematurely.
if zone labs makes the old version available that i had on this system before the damage was done ,i will install that in the interim, because i did like it.
