NISpro04: everything had been working fine for over a month. Then NIS complained that a URL update could not install and the Symantec help said to reinstall. So completely uninstalled, cleaned reg, deleted symantec folders/files and reinstalled.

Now everything works OK except NAV is not scanning incoming and outgoing emails and NAS is not flagging spam nor moving msgs to its folder. It looks like NAV is not monitoring ports 25 and 110.

I have uninstalled+reinstalled over 5x, no help. What could possibly be causing this?

I'm having the same problem with NAVpro2004, however I recently checked Symantec's website and it indicates that the scanning progess box is popping up behind your mail client window, so in order to view the progess box, you have to resize or lower the window. I use outlook express and it worked by minimizing it, however I've tested it for inbound and it hasn't worked yet. I used to use NAV2003 and never had this problem, the box popped up on the outside of the mail client. Look forward to finding a better, more informative response from Norton.

I'm not seeing any outbound progress dialog at all ... I had been running NISpro03 with NAV03 fine for over a year, it's inbound/outbound scanning never had any problems ... It's looking like I'll have to go back to NISpro03 Mad

I did some ethereal sniffing: when Outlook does a send/receive it is going thru 127.0.0.1 which is what NAV/NAS uses, so it appears that hook is properly installed for NAV/NAS but I wonder why it is not scanning nor antispamming?

I stepped back to NISpro03/NAV03 and the same problem occurs: no email in/out scanning, yet sniffing the packets shows the email going thru 127.0.0.1 so evidently NAV has hooked into it, it's just not doing anything. This has me stumped.

My 2003 has worked great until yesterday, stopped scanning outgoing and maybe incoming. The only thing I did was upgrade my Zone Alarm firewall. Uninstalled, reinstalled, no change? Tried turning off Zone Alarm, no change? What happened?

I had updated to ver 5.0.590.015 and that killed NAV 2003 outgoing Email scanning. Uninstalled, stepped back to 4.5.594 and lost all my setting naturally, but Email is being scanned again.

Also, didn't notice before, but there is an Ebay password security option, now when I connect to Worldnetdaily.com it says I'm trying to send the Ebay password - now, that's strange for sure!
