This Month in History:
Malleus Maleficarum
May 19, 1487: The Faculty of Theology at the University of Cologne endorsed Heinrich Kramer and Johann Sprenger's Malleus Maleficarum (The Witch Hammer), a guide used by the Inquisition for the diagnosis, behavior, trial, and punishment of witches. This book would go through nineteen editions over the next two centuries and was an important basis for some of the gruesome tortures applied to people accused of deviant behavior

Ekrubtap,
Do you have any desire to comprehend what others say or do you simply assume you understand at a glance? Having put forth no effort, whatsoever?
You claimed that you were not saying that I'm stupid. Assuming that isn't a lie, and that something I've said makes no sense to you, wouldn't it stand to reason that I've failed to communicate effectively? Unless, of course, you really DO think I'm stupid and just don't want admit it for some reason. If that's the case, be a man and 'fess up.
And out of curiosity, if you have no interest in what I'm trying to say, why do you even read my posts, let alone reply? What's the payoff?
If you ARE interested in what I'm trying to say, say so. It won't reflect on you, in any way and it won't hurt my feelings. I'm often asked to clarify. No big deal. Discussion of different topics overlap and I often (some would say "always") forget who I'm talking to and where the discussion -- with that particular group (or person) -- stands. |
