|
|
I have IE 6. Recently, I noticed it takes a long long long time to open up once I click it. I counted today, it took 60 seconds to open up. IE is the only program that is doing this.
I ran spybot and adaware, did a disk cleanup, defrag, and error checking and it is still going slower than any funny analogy I can think of right now.
Any ideas what is causing this? |

go to your windows explorer and in the address type " %temp% "
then Select all ( Ctrl+A) and then Delete.
then rerun diskcleanup and defrag
then download this :
http://www.snapfiles.com/download/dlstartupinspector.html
and limit the number of things that are launched at startup,
if you doubt about something then at the top left there is an button that you can use to ask for info on all your startups that are listed
then reboot
followd by an onlinevirus scan ( if you dont have one yourself, if so make sure its updated before running it)
http://housecall.antivirus.com/
marke it to lett it fix everything itself
if you still have it that slow feel free to come back with a HiJack log
Download : HiJack This from : http://computercops.biz/downloads-cat-14.html
Create and Unzip to a folder, not your Desktop or the Temp folder,
doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, use "Save Log" button, save the log in a text file, and post it here
DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YOURSELF NOW, BECAUSE MOST THINGS IN IT WILL BE NEEDED
