i cant remember what i used last time to unzip the adaware file that i down loaded.
it's an unusual type of file.
any one have a clue/
i just am re-installing everything and im stuck on this.
also spybot has found 5 new ??dso?? and they wont go away.

edit 5/28@0106
the first file for ad aware that i tried to open was from ccsp.
the file was in a zip file in a format called .tar

the one i got open was from majorgeeks and it didn't require any special tools to open it.
someone should ask why we have this in the down load section in that format and maybe change it.

TMOV,

Did you right click and select extract all, or use some ithe means?

While you are about it, get a copy of Ad-Aware Cloak form here:

http://computercops.biz/postt16224.html

Protects Ad-Aware from spyware that targets it and prevents it from operating

the one from majorgeeks did not have the weird format.
it was easy to extract all into my program files.
i wonder if we can get that one so that we can replace the one that we have on record here for the new arrivals to download.
that would make it better for them.

and thank you for the cloak for ad aware.

all i can tell you is that it is not that (.exe.tar.gz) something format.
and the one at majorgeeks says .exe at the end.
and it opens and unzips with no trouble.

claire did say that she was going to look into it.
she may already have a solution.

TMOV,

If you have Win XP it has it's own built in zip file utility. Simply download the zip file, Right click on the zip file, and select Extract All and thats it.

If you don't have WinXP and you want a zip utility use this:Winzip)
