I have performed numerous checks with Spybot and AdAware, yet none of them detect some spyware I found manually searching through my computer (searched only in the Program Files). Are these the best programs or are there some more "elite" than these?

Hi gup998,

Yes, they do work and work well, too. They both do the same job but overlap each other making having both a good idea.

By elite, l assume you refer to those that maybe cost more. Try our Download section under Anti-Spyware here:

http://209.213.221.238/downloads-cat-14.html

If you don't mind, would you, please, give us the name(s) of the spyware you found on your PC that the programs you mention do not detect? This would be of benefit to us all.

Thanks.

Thanks for your response.

SpeechEngines is the spyware I found. Do you think you can help me with this problem?

btw: is Messenger also spyware? (Ad-watch repeatedly dectects the modification being made: msmsgs.exe
^the executable file tries to "install" itself in the MEssenger folder.
I set Ad-watch to just block it all the time. Since then, Ad-watch notifies me about every 10mins or so (which makes me assume it is spyware/adware)

THe link you posted is excellent! (since there are so many programs: which one(s) do you think is(are) the most helpful?

IMHO,
These are the 2 best anti-spywares progies.
You can always submit them the files they did not catch.
This would help other users Smile
