Hi its almost like everytime I open a new internet explorer page, zone alarm pops up saying that iexplorer.exe has changed and that the destination ip is 127.0.0.1 with diferent ports each time. Did I get a backdoor trojan or something? I used many spyware progs and norton antivirus and didn't find anything. I recently deletely the clientman trojan though.
Please respond, thanx in advance. |

Your IE is browsing the Web via a proxy; Internet calls are being intercepted and redirected to your local host and the proxy then makes the calls to the Internet. That's the most plausible explaination, but not the only one.
Check your IE proxy settings and return them to default values. That is, no proxy.
Also check your hosts file to make sure the only entry is
127.0.0.1 local host
and not something like
127.0.0.1 somedomain.com
I might be able to tell you how to find out what's living on 127.0.0.1 if you'd have mentioned which Windows you're using. In fact, you don't even indicate your Zone Alarm version. When posting in a technical forum, that's always a good idea. But that's just my humble opinion and merely a suggestion.
Good luck!

Sorry for posting back so late. I am using zone alarm 5.0.590.015 and running windows xp pro. I just changed the trusted sites settings from low to medium. Also, I don't know how to check my ie proxy settings. Please give me detailed instructions on how to check it. Thanx in advance. |

Go into your control panel in windows and then to the internet options control panel, then to the connections tab, then click on the LAN Settings button, uncheck all the boxs on that page.
