This app has been using 95-98% of my cpu every time I go on the internet. TeMerc from cexx.org suggesting asking for help here since all junk has been cleaned off my computer and the same thing still happens. Is there something I am missing or an incorrect setting that will cause this? I am using Norton 2000.

When you say "Norton", are you talking about NIS, NPF, NAV, NSW, NU, ... or whatever I may have left out? Smile

And is it really Norton 2000? Wow!

There's a problem with NIS/NPF 2002 after the 12 May 2004 LiveUpdate (supposed to have been corrected by a subsequent update this past weekend), but 2000 just sounds too old to me to be using symproxysvc.exe.

Norton Internet Security
Norton Anti Virus

They no longer do internet support on the product, but they still provide the updates. Should I upgrade????? My suscription runs out July 2004.
I did a Norton update yesterday (I think) but maybe sometime over the weekend. I will do another update as soon as I can.

Okay, it's NIS (which includes NAV). Question is what VERSION now? NIS 2000 just doesn't sound right. (I mean, I've still got it myself, but haven't used that version (1.0) in over two years.) I think it must be either NIS 2.5, 3.0, or 4.0 that you're running. Try looking under Help | About ... on the NIS menu and see if it gives you a version number there, okay?
