What is this ?

When my brother try to connect to internet there is another uname in the log in frame and not his own !

The uname that appears is COnnInts 10
and the phonenumber is 0068239013

He can delete it but next time he use the computer it´s back again !

Please help him

this is what needs to be done :

Download & instal Adaware from http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=506
& update it before scanning.
In settings under 'scanning,' have it set to
'scan within archives,'
'scan active processes,'
'scan registry,'
'deepscan registry'
'scan my IE Favourites for banned URL's,'
'scan my host's file.'
Remove what it finds by placing a check in the box to the left of the object.
Reboot

Download & instal Spybot S&D from http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download Update it before scanning.
After the scan is complete, have spybot fix everything marked RED.
On the page that first opens when you start Spybot there is an option to immunise, you should do this. also one to block you starthomepage in IE

Download CWShredder from http://www.computercops.biz/downloads-file-349.html run it. Select the fix button & it will get rid of everything related to CoolWebSearch. Close ALL other programs & windows, including IE, before running CWShredder.
Reboot

Download : HiJack This! from http://computercops.biz/downloads-cat-14.html
Create and Unzip to a folder, not your Desktop or the Temp folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, use "Save Log" button, save the log in a text file, and post it here http://www.computercops.biz/forum3.html

DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YOURSELF NOW, JUST WAIT FOR AN EXPERT TO HAVE A LOOK AT THE LOG

Hi x-files,

Look in C:\windows folder for any "svchost.exe" files.

If nothing found please post a Startup list:
Open HJT---Config---Miscellaneous Tools-- Generate Startup List.
Tick on "Generate Startup List" and also tick the two boxes immediately below.
OK the Startup List ...
Post that log back here., along with the new HJT log.

I found one file with the name svchost.exe in the C:\windows\system32 folder. Description: Generic Host Process for win 32 services Microsoft corporation 5.1.2600.0 2002-10-01 19:41 12,5 kb

Now what to do ?

Sorry about not getting back.
my oversight.
Hope I can help.

Only bumped ito it once and there was a svchost.exe file in the C:\windows folder.
So we are only looking for SVCHOST.exe in C:\WIndows folder,...... need to keep the svchost.exe from Microsoft in System32 folder .

But if there is no svchost in Windows, its not there .

2.
Empty all Temp folders: ( but move HijackThis into a new folder first)

and

Open Internet Explorer,--Tools--Internet Options--General tab--"Delete Files",
Also tick the "delete all offline content" box .

Navigate to :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER and then click on " RemoteAccess" , then click on "Profile".

Is there anything for ConnInst10

YOur normal ISP info should be there also. ...and any other Connection that is present in "Network Connections"

Hello (Hej) X-files
Last night I helped my Father with his computer as he culd not get in to internet. It was the same probelem you brother have.
When I change the log in information manally I was able to get in to internet but after logging of and logging in "connInts10 was back again
and the phone number was changing all the time i tryed. All numbers was to some small Island in westindies ?

I followed the above reccomended tests and found a file called "SVCHOST.exe" in C:\windows folder.
I renamed that file to SVCHOSTT.EXE and then reboted the PC.
And since then it works well again.
I have not delited the file as I dont know if I dare to do it ???

I tried to conect/reconnect about 10 times and the connInts10 did
not come back.

I hope it is enoff to delite the file "SVCHOST.exe" in C:\windows folder.
If I understand you have the same problem but do not have this file in your Windows folder. So I guess it might be more I need to do.

My father got this problem after a teenager borrowed the computer and according to her only used the MSN chat.
