finally got it restored. Very Happy

also, here is a similar but more detailed fix from microsoft for a corrupted registry but it took care of my lsass.exe problem also

helpless, i can't tell you how much i appreciate the support you provide. i have used this fix before but never considered it for this problem. i tried all the other stuff repair(re-install) and recovery console to no avail. once again, thank you very much
