|
|
Hi,
I am getting a 'No such host...' error for one and only one of my mail addresses.
The address details are correct.
When I use JBMail to search that server for mail, it is able to connect to said server but find no mail.
When there is mail on that server, MWP finds it as normal.
Any ideas?

What type of internet connection do you have, and what is selected as the connection method in MailWasher under Tools >> Options >> Connections.
Also what type of email account is this |

k...let's get a trusty debug file. Steps to create are below (please make sure you do perform all the steps as well in the listed order)
MailWasher Pro >> Help >> About >> tick " Enable Extended Error Logging" >> restart MailWasher Pro.
Use Mailwasher Pro till you generate the error >> restart MailWasher Pro again >> click on Help >> About >> click blue link to data files >> there will be a file here called MailwasherPro_debug.txt.
If you can send us this it would be appreciated, also once sent through disable Extended Error Logging under Help >> About.
Send to
Cheers |

So I'd suggest you are checking perhaps too often, so perhaps try extending this out to 10 minutes between checks.
Or alternatively you are experiencing server burps, and Pipex are experiencing some kind problems, however their network status page does not indicate of any published issues at present with mail retrieval

Yeah, I've been checking there network status pages.
I don't know if it's Pipex or a glitch in MWP.
I'll try extending the checking period.

Just sent you another debug log.
I extended the check wait to 10 minutes - still errors.

Yeah again it shows it works then it doesn't, so I don't think it's a MailWasher problem, maybe try contacting Pipex and see if they are aware on any issues. |

I have contacted Pipex and they have said that MWP connects to the server the same way as the email client, and there were no server side issues that would affect the connection.
They suggested a firewall issue. However, I was able to receive their response via MWP, therefore Zone Alarm Pro would have surely stopped that connection - but it didn't.
I'm lost for ideas.

These errors occur while you are working at your PC ? ZoneAlarm has a feature where it can block internet traffic when your screen saver kicks in, so it may be this ?

I don't have that feature enabled.
Good thought though

I use Norton Antivirus 2004 Pro.
(I can't say I noticed this before the current build of MWP)
