Welcome.
A first pass at your problem-If your continue to have difficulties you'll need to wait for a more knowledgable reviewer.
With XP, when fixing problems, remember that you need to disable system restore prior to doing repairs and then reboot and reenable it when done.
An online virus scan from someone like trendmicro or pandasoft might be helpful for you.

References for two of your issues:
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe
http://216.239.41.104/search?q=cache:Em...n&start=18

C:\WINDOWS\System32\msrexe.exe
http://216.239.41.104/search?q=cache:5L...en&start=1

Comment on hijackthis location:
C:\Documents and Settings\Lisa\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for hijackthis[1].zip\HijackThis.exe
In order to keep HijackThis backups safe in case they're needed, best to install hijackthis in its own folder such as c:\hjt.

Disable system restore.
Run hijackthis (browser windows closed), tick to fix:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://find4u.net/indexa.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,Shellnext = http://find4u.net/indexa.htm
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Online Service] C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System Service] C:\WINDOWS\System32\msrexe.exe

Not sure here but believe if this does not relate to your ISP or was not added by you or your system administrator, it should be fixed too.
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{4E4F98C0-614A-4A8D-B977-7148BE060456}: NameServer = 64.169.140.6 206.13.28.12

Reboot to safe mode
delete:
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe
(Be very, very careful to delete only this file in this location. There is a valid svchost file elsewhere.)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\msrexe.exe

Reboot, reenable system restore.

Regards.

Thanks for the help, I followed the instructions you gave me but I am still having a problem. Actually the only step I didn’t follow exactly was where you said to reboot in safe mode, I didn’t see safe mode as an option when I rebooted.
Here is what my new log looks like.

I am sure these are problems.

OK, it looks like the files are deleted anyway.
For background/education, here's some information for you:

Info about safe mode and how to get there:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/...utorial=61

Using cwshredder:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/...utorial=47

Windows XP system restore:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/...utorial=56

I think the O16 entries you mentioned are ok. I dont know specifically what they are either but I do not see them being recommended for deletion by helpers in other threads, here or on other sites.
What I've been told about O16 entries though, is that you can remove them--if you accidentally remove one that one of your programs needs it will be downloaded again.
So if they really concern you, delete them, but I think it's ok to leave them.

Now-the main problem:
I've done some reading and I have another suggestion for you. I think find4u is one of the variants of coolwebsearch.
I'd like you to look over the info above on safe mode and cwshredder.

Download cwshredder. You can get it from the computercops download page if the link in the tutorial doesnt work.
Check version-update if necessary, mine is at 1.57 and I think it's been update to 1.58 but I cant get through to check right now.

Reboot the computer in safe mode.
Disable XP system restore.
Be sure there are no open browser windows.
Run cwshredder in fix mode.
Run hijackthis and fix any r0 or r1 entries that have find4u in them.
Reboot.
Reenable system restore.

See where you are.

Regards.
