Who knew gaming sites were the most dangerous thing online?!
For the second time in only a few weeks, I have entered into a gaming
site and almost ruined my computer.

Here's the current bastard:
Code:
view-source:http://www.pc-cheats-codes.com/wwe_raw.shtml

Can someone make a filter to stop this javascript nightmare?
Note that this site calls javascript via "src".

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT attempt to enter it without "view-source", unless
you've made a working filter and feel risky today.
Of course, you can still test it by enabling "HTML Debug info".

Hi LWC,

Are you talking about this?

Code:

<Match: Kill External Ad Scripts >
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" src="http://www.popuptraffic.com/assign.php?l=pccheats&mode=behind"> </script>
</Match>
<proxo killed SCRIPT with popuptraffic. />

<Match: Kill External Ad Scripts >
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" src="http://www.popuptraffic.com/assign.php?l=pccheats"></script>
</Match>
<proxo killed SCRIPT with popuptraffic. />

Well, you've somehow disabled all the scripts that use "src".
You haven't attached your filter, but I have to assume you've blocked
popuptraffic specifically.

If you are right and this (external) site is the blame for everything (and
it's not not something internally in the original site), then it leaves us with
just 1...kazilion billion...other sites which act the same.
You know what? Let's even assume it's the only site online which
does it. But what will you do tommorow when they change their URL?

After all, the entire purpose of Proxomitron is not to be a
whitelist/blacklist checker like other popup blockers out there, but to
recognize the bad codes in themselves. That's why it's called a proxy.

Therefore, we should focus on blocking the bad code and not the bad site.

LWC,

You didn't specify what must be blocked & why it must be. I was merely asking if that was the script you were refering too.

I didn't include the filter that blocked that particular script since it may not have been relevant.

While it's true that I use "blacklists" in some of my filters, one of which includes popuptraffic.com, you may, of course, choose not to. Who knows, maybe I'm missing something by not loading that script.

Well, I don't know the exact thing. I just know that if you enter that
site, then 100000 of popups come alive, your computer starts loading like
a mad man and 10 seconds later XP asks you to enter its CD
because "something tried to overwrite your system files".

And 1 minute later you have 20+ adwares and a hijacked homepage.

As for your blacklists, the minute - sorry, second - one of those sites changes its URL, you're doomed.
