Has anyone ever tried to move a hard drive with windows xp to another new computer system and have a successful boot up or know of way to get by the "blue screen of death"? Is it even possible?
I tried this because i have an application that I do not have the original source disks. Besides, don't want to loose the rest of my settings.

Thank you for any advice or information!

yes you can.
one way is just befor shutting old compter off for the last time. remove every thing from device manger. shut off computer install in the new one.
you will probly have to reregister it at ms.
the other way is remove drive from old computer, install in new.
put xp cd in drive reboot. do repair install from cd.

Thanks for your reply.

Do have one question which is in referance to the using the repair feature from the Windows XP installation disk. I was told that there are two times where the option of "repair" is offered. Can you tell me which "repair" to use; the first instance or is it the second instance.

Thanks Again for any information!
