Hello out there:

New member of C.Cops can use some advice...

My Gateway G6-350, with about 7 years of Internet mileage developed a consistent "About-blank" home page problem abouit a month ago...I used Spyware to clean it out regularly..it worked pretty good, but slow.

Other night I deleted Spyware's backup files of deleted stuff and since then, no action...when we start up, all I get is our wallpaper, no desktop icons, and a message stating the system has performed an illegal op and will be shut down..further details indicate that Explorer caused a page fault in Explorer.exe....tried the Windows 95/98 boot disk and getting no where.

I think I have a "dead cow" Gateway...don't have a system CD Rom disk, only a floppy for Windows 95/98.. not getting anywhere with that either.

Message about the disk write protect tab is wrong, etc....

Any help appreciated, before I just put this out on the curb.
