I've been using it for 6 months now... I don't think I could have spent my money on a better product. Fast updates, highly customizable, fast scans, resource friendly, and good support. |

Well, I've been running AVG Pro now for about a month and I'm very happy with it. I was really getting tired of checking out all those AVs out there. AVG Pro has everything I need.
I really like that monster guy with the cigar who pops up when AVG detects a virus (EICAR TESTS). |

i haven't seen a monster guy with a cigar.
when does that happen?
when you run the test and it finds something?
or just on a test virus?
'cause it doesn't do it when it finds something in the email.

The virus detection prompt (monster w/ cigar) appears when AVG's resident scanner detects a virus.
click on the "eicar.com" DL link to see...

I noticed that the "monster" prompt only appers when using IE, I get nothing when using Opera or Mozilla. |

Hey guys being on the topic of AVG 7.0 and all I was wondering. I read that the license for AVG 7.0 is valid for 2 years. During this time we can download product updates, virus updates and have technical support available. What about after 2 years? Will I still be able to download, at least, the virus updates?? |

so you are saying that i need to re-new my subscription firsr before I can update virus definitions? Why then does AVG free allow an unlimited duration for virus definition updates?

First of all;
there are two ways you get AVG FREEEEEE.
THE FIRST ONE IS THE VERSION V.6.0 and it is always free.
THE second one is the free trial version of AVG V.7.0 .
and for the thirty day free period you get the updates and what not.
but after that you have to pay for the license to continue to use it.
why don't you download the free trial version and evaluate it????
go to the download section here at ccsp and get the thing, it isn't going to obligate you to anything in the future and it isn't going to harm your P.C. when your free trial license expires and you un-install it either.
that a/v is the easiest that i have found to use,i like it.
period.
and a test is the only way you're going to decide.

Well with AVG 7 you not just paying for virus definitions, you also paying for customer support and periodic updates to the AVG 7 program itself (which you can choose to download when updating virus defs). These updates range for changes in the UI to improvements in the scanning engine.

i can't remember how much it costs to buy the license; but i tell you how i justify it to myself,i know that it just cost me $10.89 last night to get hamburgers and fries at the burger king here.
so if it costs $40.00 then it only costs me the price of three or four trips to the burger king.
and the product that i receive will help protect my P.C. from the very real dangers of having my p.c compromised by someone who wants to put malware on my p.c and then maybe steal my credit card number again.
and that was no fun even though the wells fargo and company completely indemnified me of the charges.
the thieves were using my credit card as far away as the town of Nice,France.
and i live in oregon,U.S.A.
NOW, you go think about it.
