Hey!!
Lately, I got NIS 2004, and it's cool and all, but every time i log in on MSN messenger, a NIS message apears!! "un sistema remoto esta intentando acceder a su equipo" that in means something like "a foreign system is trying to access your system".
I dont know what to think,
-Has MSN messenger some privacy menace?
-Is my NIS wrong?
-Has my MSN been hijacked?
-Is a hacker tryin to fuck my privacy by MSN?
-Is it some kind of badware? (I don't think so, I have Hi-Security software)
-Has Messenger Plus anything to do in this?
-What tha fuck...!!!???
(NIS Norton Internet Security)
I also have an inconvenient with Windows and MSN messengers. When I start up my system, the windows one runs in the background, it logs in when i dont want it to. I have deactivated the option "allow this program to run in the background" like 10000000000 times and it keeps coming and coming every time i startup. I just want the MSN one to start with Windows, but not to log in, and the windows one doesnt starts but it logs in. (When i'm online with the windows one, no icon is displayed in the tray bar!!)
Any help or coments will be welcome!! |

Hi.
It seems that you need to configure your firewall to allow MSN messenger..go to the programs section of your firewall, and give full access to MSN messenger.Next..what is windows one?I've never heard of this program..does it have a website?anyway if you want to stop windows one(w/e it is)from starting up whenever you restart your computer..then do this:
-Click on start--Run
--Type " msconfig " and press OK.
--Go to the start up programs tab in the new window that pops up.
--Uncheck the value that represents windows one.
Next time, when you restart your computer, windows one won't be here.
Lemme know if i can be of more help .

Hey!
I think I didnt show the idea of Windows Messenger, this is I meant with Windows one, Windows XP comes with Windows Messenger defaultly installed and it's completly diferent from MSN Messenger. Anyway, I already had gone to MSConfig and I didn't find anything related with Windows Messenger.
Although, I checked out my firewall's programs section and my MSN Messenger already had full access, the suspicious thing is that the Windows one is registered with the name MSN Messenger so I have 2 MSN Messengers in the program list of my firewall.
I also have been experiencing abnormalities in my internet conection, it takes a lot of time opening one page and often my Internet Explorer displays the error 404 "Page cannot be shown" and "Server could not be found" and when a page is loaded, its displayed wrong, without any image and weird lookin in their format. Suddenly, when this message appears my messenger logs off, like I got disconected from the internet and I use DSL. All this doesnot happen always but very often. I have an unstable conection.
Any ideas of what is going on or what can i do?
Thanx |
