Under current conditions, if a filter error causes a legit email to be autoDELETEd and I wish to RESTORE it, I must send it to another email account and read it there.

It would be nice if selecting RESTORE automatically tagged that email for non-autoDELETE. That would simplify matters and permit easy checking once the filter is "fixed".

Or perhaps I missed something?

Shut down MailWasher and add the following filter to filters.txt

[enabled],Restored,Restored,26112,AND,Legitimate,TakesPrecedence,
EntireHeader,contains,"MailWasher Pro recycle bin"

Restart MailWasher and make sure the filter is the first one in the list. Now, every restored email won't get autodeleted anymore. Instead, it will be marked as legitimate.

I guess the danger in a filter would be that if we were to include this by default in the program, then the possibility exits that a spammer might forge the message to match this filter.

Perhaps the Restore action should also add the sender to the friends list by default ?

Yuk!! What if MWP were to generate a hash code (how about using the password hash?) as part of the "Resent-From: "MailWasher Pro recycle bin" " header field, and have MWP include the hash in the top filter? There's no way a SPAMer could forge that for each user.

That's an option...I'll discuss with developers and get their thoughts.

it was simple for me to add my info to the filter to personalize it and reduce the spoofing possibilities a great deal...

If the entire header contains "Resent-From: "MailWasher Pro recycle bin" <[email protected]>"

Having a built in, spoof proof and already enabled tool would be far better.
