Zone Alarm is blocking my internet access

Hi.

I purchased Zone Alarm about 10 months ago, but I haven't really been able to figure out how to use it yet. I have always been annoyed with the program because it blocks my access to some things that I want to do, but whenever that happens, I just turn off Zone Alarm until it loads and then I turn ZA on again. However, I am having major difficulties with ZA ever since their last update. Now it blocks my access to the internet altogether (I use wireless internet in my house). I can only access the internet if I turn off ZA, which defeats the whole purpose.

Can you help please? I don't know how to fix this problem on my own.

Go back to the previous version. Follow the instructions I just posted in a sticky at the top of the board.

Also for some help in using ZA check out my site.

Hi Hoov,

I apologise for having no clue what "Follow the instructions I just posted in a sticky at the top of the board." means. I'm new to these bulletin board circles. I too have run into a problem with internet access with Zone Alarm Pro.

By way of clarification
- I run Norton Internet Security 2003 (which has a personal firewall) alongside Zone Alarm Pro
- both ran well alongside each other until I carried out a Zone Alarm update as prompted (upgraded to version 5.0.590.043 from version 5.0.590.015)
- Now internet access is denied

Can you please advise? I am pretty sure its a configuration isse but I have tried for hours to fix it to no avail. I would appreciate your help.

Try turning off the Norton Firewall. Running more than one of anytype of security product is an easy way to have problems.
