I don't know how BlazeFind got on my computer and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. Also, I recently uninstalled Bargain Buddy, Active Alert and Internet Optimizer after doing a search on the net and finding out what they were.

I also have questions about Memory Watcher and Software Update Manager. Please help me with these things.

Oh and I recently downloaded TrojanHunter, but haven't installed it yet. My computer has been having problems ever since I got a trojan that my Norton Anti-virus couldn't get rid of way back in February or so.

For manual instructions on how to remove BlazeFind see the link below however if your not comfortable using Regedit you may want to buy something like RegBlock.
See both links I've supplied below.

Good luck.

Welcome:

Please do these.

1.)
Merijn (author of HijackThis) has made a tool to get rid of CoolWebSearch and its many variants.
Download CWShredder:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/CWShredder.exe
Double click and hit the ->fix button to fix all found problems
Reboot.

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
After installing AAW, and before running the program, FIRST update the reference file following these instructions.
http://www.lavahelp.com/howto/updref/index.html
Now do the following:
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:
Check: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Press "Scan Now"
- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:
Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives...
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys.
Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"
Now press "Next" again.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.
Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.p...e=download
Now press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds.
reboot.

Download 'Hijack This!'. http://www.computercops.biz/downloads-file-328.html
Unzip (extract) it to a folder of its own. Then Doubleclick HijackThis.exe (in the new folder), and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, then Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Okay here is my HijackThis logfile. I downloaded Spywareblaster and CWShredder but haven't done anything with them yet. Also, my TrojanHunter sometimes finds open ports that I don't know of and my computer keys sometimes change to CAPS LOCK on their own.

Three of the things you wanted hijackthis to fix weren't listed and I couldn't delete any of the files for these reasons:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\rowserb.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ac25_32i.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\itj.exe (These couldn't be found)
C:\Program Files\ISTsvc (Access is denied. Couldn't delete)
C:\Program Files\TV Media (First the comp. screen turned white when I went to delete this, then the second time it said something was using it and it couldn't be deleted)
C:\WINDOWS\alchem.exe (no reaction when I tried to go to it)

Are you booting to safe mode at the restart after fixing with HijackThis ?

Are all other programs closed when you are fixing with HijackThis ?

Okay, I thought I was re-booting to safe mode, but I must not be if something is not going right. When exactly am I supposed to press the F8 key?
And, yes I have closed all other programs before I fixed files with hijackthis.

Sorry if I am frustrating you...I don't know much about the operations of computers.

These weren't on my hijackthis log:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wwind] C:\WINDOWS\System32\wwind.exe

Tap the F8 key just as the computer is starting up. You should get a menu, select safe mode from it.

If you have a floppy dive, you could insert a disk and then reboot. Hit F8 twice when you get the non-bootable disk error. (take out the disk then too.)

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

Reboot to safe mode and delete:

C:\Program Files\TV Media <-- folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\3d8d.exe <-- file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\pnsvrd.exe <-- file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\frgfatd.exe <-- file

NOTE: To avoid the risk of any of the above not being found due to them having the 'Hidden' attribute, first make sure that in Folder Options > View hidden and operating system files are set to show:
How to Show Hidden/System Files
