|
|
I've been to many, many sites to try and reslove this but I can't see anyone else who's had this problem...When I run Merijn's Bholist it will open up fine; when I try to 'update'; either by F5 or the List menu; it connects, status bar reads "Downloading BHO list" then goes to "Parsing" then the page will come up but simultaneously it kicks out a "Runtime error 5..Invalid procedure call or argument"..It doesn't show on my JPG but the list does load because you can see it behind the error msg..Any ideas??? WinME 265MB P3 700K free space on partition..
Oh yeah I've tried maybe 12 different downloads, both ver 1.3 and 1.4Beta same thing..I've never gotten it to load so I can't even run from a dumped file....
Thanks Jack |

Hi, since this error doesn't give me a whole lot (not your fault) I'll start at the beginning.
Open Regedit and rename the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Soeperman Enterprises Ltd.\BHOList to something else, to reset BHOList to the default settings. Then start it again and see how far you can get. Try a dumped list first, if possible.
If that doesn't work and the error still appears, try getting this file which installs the latest VB runtime libraries - yours might be corrupt: http://download.microsoft.com/download/...n60sp5.exe |

Thanks for taking time out of your VERY busy schedule to deal with this...It's just starting to #$%^ me off just because it should work..
Did both of your sugguestions to no avail (with any version)....Since originally posting this I HAVE been able to get and load a "dumped file"..That seems to work OK. So as long as Subtram keeps an "up to date" copy on his Site I'll at least have that option...Sorry for not updating the OP when I was able to find; and subsequently run; a dumped file....
One peculiarity I've noticed with WinME (On more that one install...not just this one) is a problem with programs finding and using the ::{450d8fba-ad25-11d0-98a8-0800361b1103} GUID/namespace for My docs...Doubt if it's relevant but just thought I'd mention it.....
All other sys-folders that may have a bearing on BHOList (temp, TIF) are in the default location...
Keep up the GREAT WORK you are doing......

Jack, the sysinfo.org page is on the fritz again, so I doubt updating the list from there would yield much results. But it should at least go without errors.
Do you have a dumped file at hand that is known good? I'm still using one several weeks old so I can send that one if needed. Just tell me step by step how far you can get until you get the error. |

Yes I do have a dumped file(s) that I can load (and run) any version from....
As far as Sysinfo goes when I CAN make a good connection the exact sequence is as follows
1) Blank screen--Ready to start---- screenshot HERE
2)Hit F5.... connects and Download starts---status bar says "Downloading Bholist" SC HERE
3)blank page w/ task bar reading "Parsing Page" for maybe 8-10 sec. then list come on screen S.C. HERE
4)about 1-1 1/2 sec after list pops up error message shows up 'locking' any type of list navigation ---S.C. HERE
5) I must use the OK key on the error msg as nothing else (w/BhoList) works. When click OK it closes out your program.
That's about all I can tell you; doesn't matter what version-- 1.2,1.3, or 1.4 Beta
Any other info I can give just let me know |

This bug has been fixed, sorry for the late reply but I couldn't find this thread anymore.
Btw, the URLs to fetch the lists from changed again. To fix this, in BHOList go to Options, URLs and enter:
http://www.sysinfo.org/bholist.txt
http://www.sysinfo.org/toolbarlist.txt
(This will be the default URLs when I put BHOList 1.40 public, which will probably be right about now. ) |
