i don't know if you still care about this...but there's a much easier way of removing pgate...all you have to do is run regedit. then search for anything pgate. delete all of them and bam...it's outta add/remove programs

Start >> Run... >> "Open: regedit" >> Edit >> Find... >> "Find what: pgate" >> right click on it, then delete

Well first thanks for the pointers about how tto remove PGate directly in the registry.

However the "find" only brings up a:
(Default), Reg_Z, ITipGatewayCrashed

Is that what I should delete? Question

Also anybody know if we can trust the Uninstaller that PGate provides (when you try and uninstall it it opens an webpage and you can download and uninstaller)

???
Sad

Hi Everyone,

Use the uninstaller. If you do not know what you are doing it is best to stay out of the registry. Ask for help if you need it.

If you do need help, it is best to start your own topic. Multiple logs in one thread cause confusion and everyone is shortchanged.

At one point I remember there was an error in the way they had written the registry key for the uninstaller and therefore it never started. If you try to use it and it doesn't start, this may be your problem. It does sound like they have fixed this now. You are successfully using Add Remove Programs.

Hi Eugene,
Please start a new topic for your question and post a hijackthis log.

Download and then extract Hijackthis.exe to a new folder. Do not run it from the zip the desktop or a temp folder.

You can find HijackThis on this page:
http://www.computercops.biz/downloads-cat-14.html

Do not remove anything using HijackThis. Save the log and then copy and paste the contents into your next reply here in this same topic. It lists many types of entries. Some are good, and others need to be removed. We will help you sort it out.
