|
|
Hey to all,
When I open Taskbar's Properties_Notification area_Customize_Past Items I see 30 items names left over by some previous ad/spyware and old programs which are gone since a long time already. Is there a way to clean it up? Spend a lot of time searching but can't find a thing about that. Will highly appreciate any recomendation and advice! |

Hi again fimoulia!
I've got an answer for you:
Run REGEDIT and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify
Just delete the IconStreams & PastIconsStream values.
I would export this key before clearing out the values just to be safe.
Here's the Microsoft doctrine on it:

Hope this helps. |

satchick, Hello again!
I feel like you are my Blues Brother
I'm back from town and found your message. Just great! You struck again. It worked. It's done. Only deleting values is not enough. I also replaced the process explore.exe in the Task Manager as Microsoft says in its article. And the program that someone recommended me doesn't deal with this at all. Hey, are you there?
Now tell me, satchick, how comes that you know so much and so kind-hearted!? What your Mom fed you with as a kid? I have a little daughter and want to give her the same.
Thanks A LOT again and my best regards. |
