|
|
I installed MailWasher 4.1 on my new computer and upon launch, it starts to check mail and then just freezes. It will go no further than that. I have to bring up Task Manager and End Task. I thought it might be a bad email hanging it up so i went into my other mail program and pulled all my mail off the server. I then launched Mail Washer again and it seemed fine. An hour passes and I check email again with Mail Washer and it locks up again in the exact same fashion. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program 3 times just to be sure it wasn't a bad install but doesn't help.
Any suggestions? I really like Mail Washer and had no problems with it on my older computer. Here are some specs of my new computer:
-P4 3.2 ghtz
-2 gig ram
- Windows XP Pro
- 120 GB free
Thanks for any help in advance, |

I too have a new pc and did all that. But furthermore now I cannot even start the program while after installing MW Pro it worked fine. |

I get exactly the same problem. MW will dlete a specific number of emails and then freeze. If I press STOP as soon as MW starts and click off First Alert checking then everything is ok.
This only seems to happen when I have a lot of emails (above 60).

Folks, it's time to turn on Extended Error Logging and fire off the result to RusticDog.

This actually sounds like a server problem rather than a MW problem.
That being said, though, if you set Sequential access (vice Simultaneous access) it will keep MW from pelting your server with a flood of requests and may keep it happier. Find it at Tools>Options>Connections then set the 'sequential' radio button.
Setting this option has helped people having other mysterious problems. |
