At http://help.rr.com/getpage.asp?/asp/tab...se&rrhd=xx

using alpha basic config, I get an EXTREMELY irritating animated ad on the upper right side of the page. I don't get this (thank goodness!) with the extra config from last year. That is a proprietary site unless you have Road Runner as your ISP. The awful ad is on every help page there using the basic alpha config. I couldn't stand it and had to switch to the extra config.

I'm having a similar warning as gd48202 from http://www.moviefone.com/ It seems to redirect me to an AOL site.
I can't make the moving icons at DSL Reports stay off. I've checked and unchecked the Header filter "allow animated GIFs" and deleted i.dslr.net from the list. All to no avail, they stop and then I find another one that moves.
I'm using advanced alpha with a few of the "display kill" filters off. IE6 & W2k are the weapons of choice or just too lazy to try anything new lately.

Finally got MSN Gaming Zone working with the alpha filters using JD_Advanced_A.cfg. I had to put all of this into my user includes-excludes file

Code:

#
#Zone/Hotmail Stuff!
#
zone.msn.com  $SET(keyword=.gifs.activex.js.frames.code.namedjs.vb.ojs.classid.)
classic.zone.msn.com   $SET(keyword=.gifs.activex.js.frames.code.namedjs.vb.ojs.classid.)
login.passport.com   $SET(keyword=.gifs.activex.js.frames.code.namedjs.vb.ojs.classid.)
login.passport.net   $SET(keyword=.gifs.activex.js.frames.code.namedjs.vb.ojs.classid.)
loginnet.passport.net   $SET(keyword=.gifs.activex.js.frames.code.namedjs.vb.ojs.classid.)
loginnet.passport.com   $SET(keyword=.gifs.activex.js.frames.code.namedjs.vb.ojs.classid.)
hotmail.com  $SET(keyword=.gifs.activex.js.frames.code.namedjs.vb.ojs.classid.)
hotmail.net  $SET(keyword=.gifs.activex.js.frames.code.namedjs.vb.ojs.classid.)

The key seemed to be the "classid" keyword, and just to be on the safe side I put in the VB, namedJS, and ojs keywords, because you never know with microsoft's damn sites. Laughing

That's why I don't use Hotmail/Passport anymore. Too nosey! If MS wants to force all that crap on me, No Thanks!

One quick problem:

http://scan.sygate.com/

The "ads" on the left are supposed to be links to legitimate scans (stealth, udp, trojan etc.)

I'm encountering SSL services not sufficient warnings at savagenews.com
Also, how do I get rid of all the "Filter 11" lines all over the pages?

Why would you need ssl on that site? Paypal?

Can't you just deny the certificate? JD's Alpha seems to filter the page okay (not many "Filter 11" lines seen.)

As to why on savagenews, I'm clueless but it just happened again -- once I OK I see the page normally.
I investigated further and have eliminated the Filter11 junk Very Happy .
It seems that I cannot alter what is checked in the Proxo config settings while the browser is running -- I need to close the browser before doing the mods. That certainly slows the adjustment procedure since it's reasonable to want to see how pages render with different filters using just page reload.
Dunno if anyone else cares, but there is so much junk in CBS Marketwatch Evil or Very Mad that a special category of filters devoted to cleaning it up might be warranted. Perhaps someone has created a few that I could merge into my setup?

I'm not seeing any bugs. Can you be more specific?

Hey JD, when do you think this alpha config will become a "final"? It's looking pretty good already Very Happy

You are using the advanced alpha? I sure don't think the basic alpha is ANYWHERE near ready for release!

Here's another example of why I think these alpha configs are not nearly ready for release.

At this site which is a favorite, http://www.themeworld.com/ using alpha basic and advanced configs, I cannot preview themes. I get a download box instead of the preview. If I try opening the link in a new window on IE or a new tab, or active tab on Firefox, I just get a blank page with the download box.

If I switch to JD's Oct 2003 extra config or to straight proxo config, I get the HTML page with the preview of the theme.

I myself PREFER the download box when I click on a link ending in .zip...

So in MY eyes, the config is doing what it is SUPPOSED to do...
THAT website should NOT be using .zip links to redirect to a "preview" page...

"So there..."
