Atelier Web Ports Traffic Analyzer 2.0.

Quotes:

WHAT'S NEW IN RELEASE 2.0 of Atelier Web Ports Traffic Analyzer

* AWPTA sessions can be optionally continued after the computer
reboots. Previously, when the computer rebooted the Log Buffer was
initialized and reset for a new AWPTA session with all data from the
previous session lost.
* The Processes viewer pane, is now optionally autorefreshable. The
refreshing obeys to an intelligent algorithm, although the user must
propose the number of seconds for the refreshing interval as a guide.
* The LSP engine has been fully reviewed with very significant
stability gains. Now, most people will keep it running full time,
non-stop. Try.
* The Packets viewer grid is literally tens of times faster than in
previous 1.xx releases. Even large multimegabyte data captures are
displayed almost instantly - so fast is it that the Abort button,
which
was used in previous releases to cancel tedious data manipulation,
was
simply discarded.
* Captured data can be saved in raw format. This is very useful for
reconstructing whatever came or was sent across the line, such as
html
pages, exe files or video and sound files. This works both in the
Traffic and in the Archives page.
* The Ports Database has been dramatically improved and augmented.
Now,
it contains about 6000 records, covering more than 12000 port
references, more than twice the quantity of releases 1.xx - making
it,
hands down, the most comprehensive Ports database in the market. The
user interface is simply great! Another important aspect is that the
user can edit, insert and delete database records. WYSIWYG printing
is
available as well.
* For any particular line on the Details viewer grids (i.e., in the
Traffic and Archives pages), important supplementary information can
be
retrieved by right-clicking and selecting Connection Details from the
popup menu. This information includes source and destination ports
information, Assignment/Country IP information and IP reverse lookup.
* AWPTA includes a Countries from IP database, 99% reliable on
release
date. This is a very useful feature for fast assessment of where
connections are going or coming from.
* Booster.exe, an AWPTA 1.xx helper application which was loaded by
default on Windows 9x machines, was simply removed. Users disliked
it,
complained about it and kept questioning us about it. We found an
alternative solution to perform the same functionality and discarded
Booster. No regrets.
* From the Options menu/Filters/Processes the user can decide for a
particular file whether he wants to have it shown on the Processes
viewer grid, whether he wants AWPTA to track it (even if not shown in
the Processes viewer pane) or whether he wants to block that file
from
sending and receiving data. These selections stick across sessions.
* By right-clicking on the processes viewer grid the user can block
network access or (try to) kill a given process.
* Viewer grid colors can be choosen from the Options menu. This must
satisfy users with notebooks and other system where the default
colors
do not provide adequate contrast.
* Processes and Details grids sorting defaults can be established
from
the Options menu.
* You can remove columns from the grids, by right clicking on the
column header and unchecking the column name. The new format will be
kept when saving or printing. It is also possible to change the order
of the grid columns by dragging the column headers. The new format is
maintained as well when saving or printing.
* We learnt from experience that the Index Gauge was reaching full
capacity earlier than the other gauges. The maximum number of
pointers
in the Index has increased from 200,000 to 300,000.
* Many other smaller enhancements and fixes...
