**Before You Post, Read-Follow These Rules and Guidelines
Read This 1st!: Forum Posting Rules and Update Threads
(This is a feeble attempt to establish some order here in the wild wild spyware-hijack forum.)
When posting to this forum:
Note: Please post here if any of the following apply to you:
- your start page has changed without being requested
- your start page cannot be changed
- your browser has an additional toolbar which you want to get rid of
1. Hi-Jacking someone's thread for your questions and requests will result in your post making a quick trip to the jail. Please do not do this it wastes our time and will result in your problem taking longer to solve.
2. One Topic and/or issue per thread. If you have the same or similar issue....as another poster.......start a new thread. No Exceptions!
3. Be specific about YOUR issue. Ever since Miss Cleo was shut down, the staff are having trouble connecting with psychic energies, and therefore do not read minds. The more information you can provide...... in your initial post about your system and your issue........ the easier it will be for us to ascertain just what is is that's clogging up your pipes.
4. No vulgarity
5. Remember some common courtesy to the staff and folks assisting you. This is YOUR issue. Please and Thank You work really well. Rude comments, personal attacks, flaming, and trolling will NOT be tolerated. These folks volunteer their time so that you may stay cybertronically connected. Also remember ALL staff here are VOLUNTEERS.
6. Before posting any information on the board please ensure that you have done the following and have the appropriate information to enable us to help you resolve your issue as quickly as possible:
a) Ensure that your virus checker is up to date
It is important that your virus checker has up to date definitions. Most virus checkers have a updater which allows you to update your definitions. All virus checkers are updated frequently so please carry this step out first.
b) Run a Virus Scan Using the latest definitions
Ensure that you have carried out a full virus scan, using the latest definitions. If you do not have a virus checker or are unsure whether your virus checker has been compromised, then there are several reputable online scanners available:
Panda ActiveScan
Trend Micro Housecall
c) Which virus checker are you using
Please state which post virus checker you are using including the version number (e.g. Norton Antivirus 2003 rather than just Norton)
d) State which virus has been found
Please state in your post and the post subject of the exact name of the virus found (e.g. W32.sobig.a Help)
e) State Symptoms
Please post detailed symptoms that you are experiencing e.g. I've lost files, cannot connect to net etc...
7. DO NOT Private Message the Administrators or Moderators.
8. Please do not post your email address or other personal information. Spammers do lurk here and they also operate email harvester bots to scan for email addresses. If a moderator sees that you have posted an email address, it will be removed.
Please note: **That all update threads belong in their update forums...........when posting threads please include the date of the update in the thread title as well......thanks......jd |
