...and I hear that the temperature got up to a mild minus 33 C yesterday (in Edmonton, fairly close to Vancouver??) and another point is that Rabbits don't go well in the cold

Other side of the Rockies. Sort of like comparing Sydney and Melbourne weather. It was minus 36 C in Regina (one province over to the east) yesterday ... inevitably making it's way here ... cutting out for fairer climes ... I wish.
