Windows Explorer folder error

Whenever I go into a folder on my desktop called Downloads where i put video files etc. it sometimes has an error saying'Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.' when I do anything to a video file such as play it or rename it. When I click don't send everything closes and only my desktop background shows without any icons. After that everything re-appears but I still can't play the videos. I've scanned the whole folder for viruses and it is clean.
Can anyone help me? Laughing

well disable that preview of your file on the left of your windows explorer, think its Tools, Folder options and then select USE WINDOWS CLASSIC FOLDERS, by this windows will not try to read it before you access it.
