|
|
I may have a virus but I can't find it. I was running NAV 2004 pro until a few days ago when messages began to appear saying that some component was missing. It told me to uninstall and reinstall. I did that but the message kept appearing. I've tried almost every online scanner as well but none of them work. They all say that my Active X controls are not set right but when I check they are set exactly as they say they should be. I was able to use AVG 7.0 but when I scan it comes up with nothing. I have used TrojanHunter (nothing came up, Spybot S&D, and Ad-Aware and deleted everything they came up with and it still doesn't work. I don't know what to do. Please help |

Hello erinj28,
What NAV2004 component is missing? What is your operating system? What is the exact text of the various messages you are receiving? |

Thanks for getting back to me. I am running windows XP. The messages don't say what component is missing. The first one says:
Norton Antivirus has encountered an internal program error. Uninstall and Re-install Norton Antivirus
The second says:
Norton Antivirus was unable to scan your computer for infections because some Norton Antivirus components are missing.
I got one other message yesterday that actually suggested that it may be caused by an attack but I've only seen it once and don't remember exactly what it said.
As for the active X messages the say:
Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result the page may not display correctly.
This message pops up everytime I try to use an online scanner. I have ActiveX controls enabled. All this used to work before last week.
Here is my Hijack This log in case it helps because I don't think the problem is specific to Norton. I think it may be a virus causing it because i can't get any anti-viruses to work. Thanks
