I have had this computer since it was new out of the box about one year now. I have always logged off and put computer in standby mode until I found out computer was starting itself and coming out of standby to fully on after about four hours of being in standby mode. I have tried putting computer into hibernation instead by holding down the shift key while clicking on standby button. This keeps the computer from turning itself back on.
Question:
Should I leave my computer running 24-7 or put it into hibernation when not in use? I have ADSL with 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and I am leary of leaving my computer on when no one is around. I have Agnitum Outpost Firewall and AVG 6 free AV. I've been told by some folks to never turn my computer off and others tell me to never leave it on. I am confused and eMachine support cannot answer my questions about this subject. If someone could help me please I would really feel a lot better.
Thank you.
