Ok folks. Let see what kind of whiskey drinkers you really are.
Me? I prefer my whiskey mixed with a Mexican Coca Cola.
But I will sip it straight and slowly when a few cubes of ice are added.

I voted straight from the bottle. Who needs a glass anyway? Wink
This is usually when I am P offed.

I will drink it all of the ways you have described and be fine with it except boilermaker. I do not like to mix beer and whiskey

Straight? That's neat. I'll drink it like that unless it doesn't have a nose. See what I've learned from this forum. Wink

I considered using the term Neat, but there are probably a few amongst us that would've scratched their heads.

This forum is going to drive me to drink......MORE!

Hey People -- it really depends on what you're having: Very Happy

Ardbeg (25 yrs): straight, tapered whiskey glass, in the company of an old friend
Bruichladdich (26 yrs): with a touch of ice made from sea water, in an old chipped tumbler, in the company of an old sea mate
Chivas: lots of ice, short wide whiskey glass, drink before the ice waters it down, me and 007
Crown Royal: no ice-just a litle snow, in a cup made of birch bark, in the company of a couple of gentle moose
Jack Daniel's: straight, small shallow glass, in the company of Muddy Waters or Billie Holiday
Glenfiddich (30 yrs): crystal, a touch of ice, candlelight, Catherine Zeta Jones (without what's his face)
Poit Dhubh (30 yrs):straight, holy grail, just me and Mr. Tolkien
