If you like Guiness beers you should try the Belgian Trappists 
BTW the Canadian singer Charlebois is brewing a few very nice beers also

We have Brown Ale in the UK which is quite sweet and nutty flavoured. Is that anything like the red ale in the pole? If so, that gets my vote!

Yes Blast BUT we in the Northern Hemisphere are freezin are little white buts off right now so a tall frosty one doesn't necessarily refer to what we're drinkin 
Right now I think a little mulled wine would bring a bit of Xmas cheer. (What is mulled wine by the way?)
