This workaround is quicker and better than the microsucks' solution, which doesn't work in all cases anyway.

Install proxomitron, define your proxy and in advanced settings your authentication data. Whenever problematic, switch on the authentication filter. Get necessary data from the logwindow.

redirect ONLY your mediaplayer to the proxomitron or use your browser settings.



Works fine, just check your logwindow! The only thing is it will communicate a bit more with your proxy.
