I have Norton Internet Security and Norton Antivirus 2004. I'm waiting to be impressed by the NIS. Slows my system down horribly. anyway, I've done a full system scan. No viruses. But I have all these Xrated files showing up in my download folder and a chat folder . I delete them and they come back. I know they are back because all the sudden I start getting these messages that show norton is scanning OUTGOING email messages that I'm not sending. What is going on???? I'm on a cable modem. Just in case that makes a difference.
Please help. I don't know what to do. Should I call my cable company and have my email address changed? or does that have anything to do with it.
Thanks.
Kim

I must say that this years NIS package has a lot more running problems
than last years edition.I thought by ticking the box "Always use this
action" meant just that, when you are asked what action you wanna
take,eg do you wanna accept cookies from this web site ?

But what it really means is "Tick this box and next time I will ask you the
same bleeding question again" !!!!!!!!!! And again !,And again ! And a
bloody gain !!!!!!!

If e-mail messages are going out and you're not sending them, that is not a good thing. Either a spam program is using your machine to send spam so that it is less trackable, or a program is sending data from your machine 'home'. Either way, it is not good.

You might be best off posting a Hijack This log in the 'Hijacked' section of this forum and have one of the experts review it.
