I am running windows xp and i have just run stinger, ad-aware and spybot. i had tried to install mcafee professional version 8 but i removed it because it would not allow me to access mcafees or nortons website for updates.
Thanks for any help!

I'm not quite sure why you chose to post in this Forum, but here's one idea.

Find your Hosts file. Open it with Notepad.exe. If you find entries in the file for Symantec or Norton websites (or any other security-related websites , for that matter), delete them. Save the file and exit Notepad.

Try again and see if your problem is solved.

Incidentally, looking at your HJT log, I don't see any anti-virus or software firwall running and that's a very dangerous way to surf the Internet these days.
