Some more info would be helpful. To begin with, was it working previously or is this a new install?

Eudora 5.1 manual account setup
In Eudora 5.1 click Tools>>Options>>Getting Started>>Mail Server(Incoming)>> add a .b9 to the end of your POP3 server address >> also note down this address before the change >> click OK >> go to Benign >> Tools >> Options >> Accounts >> click Add >> enter your POP3 mail address noted earlier (without the .b9) and enter what security setting you desire for this account.
If you need to change the Mail Server(Incoming) port due to conflicts then refer Eudora support

Disable the firewall for test and possibly the anti-virus to see if either of these cause you problems.
I don't believe you stated which OS you are using. The importance is that this determines where your Windows host file sits.
The association between Endurea, Benign, and your ISP occurs with this host file.
Under XP for example it should be located in the systems32 folder, under drivers, under etc.
The host file needs to have its read only attribute removed in order to be written to by the Benign setup. Many times this gets locked by the user or by a program such as Spy Bot to keep unauthorized changes to the file from occurring from the outside world.
If you can not find it, do a search for host with no extensions. You can manually modify the host file and then resave it, however if using a program such as Notepad which will try to add a .txt to the end of the name, select save as/all files. If you make a mistake here the host file will still not be seen by Windows, so make sure it is simply named host .
Good luck!
Perry
p.s. Make sure you only have one firewall actually running, XP has its own.
