Also, when importing the e-mail server address...OutLook is there already....there is no way to remove Outlook & retype incrediMail

But, I got the jist of what to do to keep the prigram running....

1.) When hunting the hosts file>>DO NOT type in the address>>C:/windows/system32...etc...>>>instead>>Type in "hosts"...thats all...ALL of the hosts files will show up to UN-check the read only...Also, make sure you are the "administrator " and have the "show hidden files" and "show subfiles" checked

2.) SpyBot will reset the hidden files and sub files that you just un-checked back to de-fault...so, after a SpyBot scan, you have to re-UN check the "read only file" and check the "show hidden files" & "sub files"

To keep SpyBot from resetting the host file read only flag you can go into the setup for SpyBot and disable its protection of this file.

Perry- I found the settings department on SpyBot with NO prob...BUT, is the above subject header what you were talking about...to "enable" this for SpyBot to scan whithout having to go back and re-set the "Raed Only" and Hidden files and show subfiles...?

Elaborate, please.

And Thank You.

Just a second I will launch it............

The setting to disable is under the immunize under 'Lock Host file read-only as protection against hyjackers.', uncheck the radio box. SpyBox will do the rest of its scan without resetting this file.

Keep in mind that once you do this, you should be able to enable it after B9 is fully installed. I don't believe it needs to be open for any reason since the B9 host modification should be complete.

If it does, then one has to wonder why.

I have B9 installed, just running a different proxy at the moment for spam control until certain features enter MailWasher to take its place, so I really am just stating this from a logically standpoint.

Hello Kirsten

Go to the above web site and download the program U want..MailWasherpro or Benign ..OR...both ..they are both 30 day trial version and work well together. By design.
Benign is an e-Mail scrubber..MailWasherPro is a Content Filtering system with links to data spam bases for cycling and containing spam..ONCE U find spam in the MailWasher..it goes to a collection center in newZealand.NEVER to hit another PC again, OR yours! inother words..we with mailWasher see our email on a server...BEFORE its at our PC.
Benign strips content from incomming mail which may harbor un-known virus's..since Benign dosnt use definitions to gaurd your incoming mail port, it actually uses an encryption ...b9...code to RE-write the mail so its readable..without the harmful attachments OR HTML, embedded web buggs, virus's or whats out NOW is the MAILMI.WORM..of which is an .zip exe file which can be rewritten NOT to cause harm.

If that helped.GREAT!! get the lastest versions of both .b9 and mailWasher..Try them..and if you need ANY helpwith the install or anyquestions..check out the FAQ...if still in a quandry..go to>>> for Hamish, tell him getsteppin sent U. Thumbs Up

or

http://www.net-integration.net

It is free unless you want to donate, then it is still free.

You should then post at one of the Spyware forums or perhaps the TrojanHunter forum. This forum deals with stripping email using B9. B9 can't help you if your computer is already infected.
