hey,

i just reformatted my comptuer after it kind of crashed, eheh.. it was working fine until everytime i started starting up the computer, it would go, "problems with shortcut [insert file name, i.e. X129FJL3 is something theyd show on my comptuer]...could not find location on hard drive, it may be lcoated somewhere else" or something like that. does anyone know what that means? i get about 20 or 30 of those popping up everytime i come on to the computer! i dont know what to do.. i went to the area where the files where and kept deleting them, but more of them just kept coming back. i downloaded a bunch of anti virus and anti trojan programs at diff. times to see if that coudl detect and remove anything, but nothing helped or found anything. HELP! Sad i have no idea what to do, and more of these "problems with shortcuts" keep popping up! thanks a lot =)

Do you have your original Win XP install CDs? If you do, then do another format from the CD. To do that, reboot the PC with the Win XP CD in the drive. Then do a reformat. You cannot reformat from Windows, only from boot or startup.

If you don't have the Win XP CDs then you will need to get them.
