It seems that AVG Free has become extremely popular. It might be time to upgrade to AVG Pro, which offers high-speed download servers. Smile

I use AVG free edition as well. In fact, just installed it a couple of days ago. I click update, and it receives the update successfully.

I usually have to keep trying about 5 times or more before it finally connects and downloads the update.

edit the file 'url.ini' in the avg folder so it reads:

[SERVER_NAME]
1=free.grisoft.cz
2=ftp.grisoft.com
3=www.grisoft.com

[SERVER_URL]
1=http://free.grisoft.cz/softw/60/fe
2=ftp.grisoft.com/pub/softw/60/fe/
3=http://www.grisoft.com/softw/60/fe/
Actual URL=3

and it will update more problem free.

Still requires a few tries sometimes though
