You're responding to someone else BooRad, not me. I have said nought about safety now versus safety in past times.

No, SPF...I must agree again with MrsHoppes. You are a man of science, I thought...was it safer with muskets & single shots & some repeaters or is it safer now with weapons of mass destruction, like suitcase nuclear bombs or vials of pestulance or some flasks of chemical toxins set loose upon the innocent by some mindnumbed idiot evil pukes! The dire consequences are so much more far reaching & destructive now than most can even fantom or imagine! It is not a safer place now...
BooRad

You got the wrong bloke Boorad and your argument is based on a few isolated incidents and hypothetical situations, pure sentiment.
Instances of fact follow,
1. Slavery, not not just the US & Africa but the white trade too where Morroccan / Tunisian / Algerian Galleons would abduct hundreds for Galley and Domestic Slaves.
2. Canibalism rife throughout the third world.
3. Press Gangs operating in coastal regions, menfolk never to be seen again.
4. No Police force until modern times, murder, theft and maiming was commonplace.
5. Just a walk through Victorian London by Gas Light would have seen you mugged raped and beaten if you were on your own.
6. No one went out after dark as it was too dangerous.
7. Women were beaten into submission (similiar to the catholic Workhouses)(a "Christian" society).
8. Moving on to the 50s / 60s, Razor Blades, Knuckle Dusters, Motor Bike Chains on every street corner.
Your God would have been needed if anyone dared to walk into sight.

The 60s / 70s saw Peace & free love Purple Hearts etc, that had a calming influence that stayed with us until the very recent times of the hard drug culture that gave rise to spiralling crime rate, but it is still not as dangerous to go out at night now as it was in earlier times.

There were more killed in the 1st world War & the 2nd World War than in todays wars of Nuclea Bombs and germwarfare that you go on about boorad.
During those wars there was more a more condensed field of worship as most people were connected to the Church one way or another, usually by fear!
So, why, when there is more religion is there more deaths?

Hello all!

To answer this question:
Quote:
So, why, when there is more religion is there more deaths?

That depends on whether the religions are based on being alive or on being dead.

If living bodies are considered to be "bad for the soul," then why combine them? Soul is life energy. Bodies die but Soul lives. While the body lives, it is a House of Soul. It's time to start honoring that in everyone!

More to come later.....

The "Soul" does not live after Death, it dies with you.
Death is final and you are a long time Dead, so make the most of this world cause you aint coming back for a second chance no matter what it say's in any books.
If you want to believe that you will, OK, but that's all it will be, a belief.

Oh come on Cobbler, surely you know the Father.
The father of soul, James Brown, owwwwww!!
AS far as I know only he and a few others, like Sam and Dave
had Soul, Man...

Comin' to ya on a dusty road
Good lovin' I got a truck load
And when you get it you got something
So don't worry cause I'm coming
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
Got what I got the hard way
And I'll make it better each and every day
So honey don't you fret
Cause you ain't seen nothing yet
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
Play it Steve!
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
Listen
I was brought up on a side street
I learned how to love before I could eat
I was educated from good stock
When I start lovin' I just can't stop
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
Well grab the rope and I'll pull you in
Give you hope and be your only boyfriend
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
You're a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man

Sorry, SPF...I have been somewhat rushed of late. Twas Cobblers2u my response was meant for...but then being the astute individuals that you both you properly pointed that out to me and I acknowledge the error of my recent ways.

But my premise of my response is still sound & valid I believe...I do agree with MrsHoppes. I do not believe that is is safer now than 100 yrs ago. The current day threats are very real and the potential damages unimaginable. Any knowledgable scientist would concur.

Ekrubtap,
That was pure in depth beat of James Brown, even today just reading the words I can "feel the sound".

Let us start on the "Right foot" here,
You may all argue about the "Sole" but I am going to "Shoe" you all off because yes I am that man.
I Cobblers2u are the top authority in Europe and the USA on "Soles".
"Soles" de-compose over a period of time.
"Stick" with me and you believers can go to Heaven with a good "Sole".

In the words of Elvis and other well known Italian Tenors,
"O Sole O Mio"
Give it to me,
Delicious Ice-a-Cream
From Italy.

Law of Conservation of Energy. Sound familiar?

You are talkin' to a "Soul Man," here with clear and proven recall of past lives.

We are all right and we are all wrong to each other until we meet in that great beyond together. I will personally come and dig you up Cobblers2u!

However, I do agree with ekrubtap! Thanks! Made me laugh! LOL Very Happy

Ah so, can we now establish that there are DIY stores in the great beyond from where we may purchase Shovels etc.

This is 1 step nearer to the proof we have been searching for.

What are you going to do with me when you have dug me up.
I hope the believers will pray that you are not into actions that are classified as illegal with Dead Bodies.

If you are refering to ones "soul" then should it not have already departed.
You are welcome to dig me up for a James Brown Soul party anytime, I'll be waiting for you as I wont have much to do will I. Wink

So you don't think Walmart will find a way? I'll bet they've got psychics working on establishing a presence as we speak. Probably making big donations to various and sundry churches and charities in hopes of gaining the big dispensation allowing entry to the nether regions. If you're a small retailer....don't bend over in their vicinity.

PAIN FOR GAIN Wink traditional bartering techniques of the church.
Count me in, well, as long as the rewards are substantial!
Sometimes the only way we can fight the giants is via the "Backdoor" method Wink
Anyway who is this "Ben Dover"
Is he the new appellant for failed entrants via the Gates with Angel guardians.
Hold on, Iv'e just had an apparition, I envisaged the Angels wings outlined in Red.
Looks very much like the Macdonalds m Just Coke-er-Coaler to find now Wink

peace & love upon youse, heh
BooRad

sometimes, tis better to say nothing and be thought an ignoramous...
than to spew it out and be known as one...it is!

There's the cantankerous ol' BooRad we all know and love. This, Boo, is a little comic relief from the knashing of teeth and beating of breasts (in a strictly mea culpa sense, of course) and (barring oblique scatalogical references (mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa) kind of ironically appropriate to a thread entitled "What's the Point?"
