Whats the point?

What is the point of religion? To tell people that there going to hell because they dont believe in god? Everybody around me trys to convert me. There number 1 line is god is great. So whats the point of religion? I get people knocking on my door everyday handing out flyers. I read through one flyer and it made no sense. How would people know who the first people on Earth was? How would we know if there was a great flood thousands of years ago and it killed everyone. People just read the bible and they think everything is true. So what is the point of religion?

The flood was real and there is scientific evidence to support it.

As for religion... religion is man-made. Relationship is real. And there is a difference.

Hell is real as well.

First people on earth were Adam and Eve. God said it, I believe it.

People knocking on your door.... that is annoying. I used to have JWs knocking on my door. I told them if they could convert my dog, then we'll talk. Till then, go someplace else, please.
When Mormon's knocked on my door, I invited them in, gave them some soup I had cooking in the crock pot, discussed what they believed and compared it to what I know to be Truth. They left and haven't come back either.

So what's the point? The point is God is real. He loves you. He wants you to get to know Him. Not some religion. Get to know Him yourself. If you don't have a bible, I can send you one. Read it. Pray. If you don't know how to pray, sit an empty chair infront of you and pretend you are talking to your best friend. God already knows everything about you. He is just waiting for you to invite Him into your life.

God (The Great "I Am Who I Am")

Is respecting and loving one another
unconditionally.

As for Hell, we make our own "Hell" with the
choices we make in life.

I've made bad choices and felt like I was in Hell
afterward.

The good choices I've made left me feeling
good, loved, respected, etc.

IMHO...If we make bad choices, then we are
plagued with bad people who do bad things and
"bring us down with them", but if we make good
choices, then we have good people around who
make us feel good, loved, respected, etc.

It's all about the choices we make in life...IMHO

there's going to be a whole lot of christian believers praying for you.
you're done , when they start praying for you the effect is usually immediate and dramatic.
cause they tell all their friends and then when you get those little old ladies that are widows that have excess time on their hands dedicating the time to pray for you they just won't stop until the HOLY SPIRIT tells them that it's allright.

THEN THE PILOT WOULD CALL THE TOWER AND ASK FOR CLEARANCE AND UPON RECEIVING CLEARANCE HE WOULD SAY'
ROGER TOWER,
NAVY ROMEO PAPA ONE NINER IS ON THE ROLL.
AND DOWN THE RUNWAY WE WOULD GO GETTING AS MUCH AIRSPEED AS WE COULD SO THAT WE COULD TRADE THE AIRSPEED FOR ALTITUDE AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY.
WHEN WE WERE OFF THE GROUND YOU COULD HEAR THE PILOT REPORT TO THE PEOPLE ON THE GROUND,
"BAY DEPARTURE CONTROL NAVY ROMEO PAPA ONE NINER IS OFF MOFFETT PASSING THROUGH ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED,
EXECUTING MY SID SIX DEPARTURE AT THIS TIME'.
SID IS AN ABBVREVIATION FOR STANDARD INSTRUMENT DEPARTURE.
BELIEVING IN THE LORD IS LIKE BELIEVING IN THE PILOT.
CAUSE AT THE END OF THE FLIGHT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO HEAR ON THE RADIOS, AND EVERYONE ON THE PLANE LISTENS TO THE RADIOS ON BOTH THE UHF AND VHF FREQUENCIES SO THAT WE ARE ALWAYS AWARE OF WHAT THE FLIGHT CREW IS DOING SO THAT IF ANY THING HAPPENS WE WON'T BE SURPRISED.
WE'LL BE RIGHT ON TOP OF THINGS.

AND THEN YOU WANT TO FEEL THOSE MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEELS TOUCH DOWN AND THEN THE NOSE WHEEL TOUCH DOWN AND THEN THE ENGINES GOING INTO THE BETA RANGE AS THEY REVERSE THE PROPS AND SLOW YOU DOWN TO A SLOW ENOUGH SPEED THAT YOU CAN STEER THE AIRCRAFT WITH THE NOSE WHEEL STEERING AND TAXI
TO THE BIRD BATH AND DRIVE THE PLANE THROUGH AND THEN GO TO THE FUEL PITS TO FILL THE TANKS.
THEN TAXI TO YOUR LINE AND TURN IT ALL OFF AND THEN GO HOME TO YOUR FAMILY AFTER DEBRIEF.
WHEN WE DIE WE LEAVE A MORTAL BODY THAT IS PART OF THE CARBON CYCLE AND IT WILL DECOMPOSE AND RETURN TO THE EARTH .
BUT OUR SPIRIT IS NOT DEAD.
I SURE HOPE THAT WHEN YOU DIE THAT YOU WILL BE ON THE FREQUENCY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THAT YOU WILL HEAR HIM SAY

better use "purple k" that will put out class A,B,C AND D FIRES; OF WHICH THE D FIRES , ARE BURNING METALS LIKE MAGNESIUM, WAIT, NOT TRUE ,IT ONLY SUPRESSES MAGNESIUM. So i hope it doesn't get that hot.

Okay, eatmoredirt,

The point of religion is to give people who need a community and structure a place to band together for their own common good. The point of some religions is to see how much they can control other people's lives. Good religions, however, are simply a way for people to share common ideas. There's a huge difference between faith and religion. Religion means following someone else's interpretation of the bible they choose to interpret. There are so many different translations and interpretations, I find it's best to examine it myself, and take what I'd like out of it. Of course, everything's not true, you can't believe everything you read. Many of those stories have been passed down through so many generations, the moral is the same, but the details are totally overblown.

So, the point of religion is community. The point of faith and belief in a God or set of Gods is something else entirely. You must remember, even Pagan religions are religions, none the less. There's nothing Satanic about Pagan beliefs, just a belief in different Gods. I have never chosen to follow any one religion, only to apply relevant parts of many different ones to given my life more meaning and structure. You can pray at home just the same as any other building.
